PRETOMA succeeds because of support and donations from people like you! From volunteers in our projects to the woman in Oregon, USA who donated raincoats, to the University of Costa Rica students who built our hatcheries in Punta Banco, we rely on people who want to see endangered species protected and marine resources used responsibly.
One of the ways you can take action to support us is by donating one or more of the following items on our wishlist. Our office is small and lacks a few important items and our projects would be even more effective with additional supplies. Please take a look at the list and if you'd like to make a tax-deductible donation to buy an item, or donate the item itself, we would greatly appreciate your support!
For Office
- Computer
- Digital projector for presentations
- Digital camera (still or movie)
- Small TV and VCR for use when editing videos and giving presentations
- Any office supplies such as blank cds/dvds, computer paper, pens, manila folders
- Office chairs
- Surge Protector to protect computers during thunderstorms and power outages
- Xerox machine
For Projects
- Flashlights/headlamps and rechargeable batteries for nightly turtle protection patrols
- Raincoats/ponchos for observers on fishing vessels
- Digital video cameras for use by observers on fishing vessels
- Waterproof housing for digital camera
- Binoculars for observers on fishing vessels
Also, like any non-profit we do backflips when people make donations for operational costs!
One last thing, and we know that this one is a high hope, PRETOMA is dire need of a 4x4 vehicle in order to reach remote project sites. A donation of this sort would really increase the effectiveness of our conservation efforts.
