Scientific name: Carcharhinus leucas
Spanish name: Tiburón Toro

Description: this large and robust gray shark has the amazing capability to tolerate highly salty sea water and fresh water, that's why it's easily founded in rivers and estuaries, and it's also known as the Lake Nicaragua shark and the Zambezi shark.

Size: the reach 3.5 meters in length

Distribution: its distributed along the continental coasts, in all tropical and subtropical seas. It has been reported 2,800 km up the Mississippi River and 4000km up the Amazon in Peru. Its because of that the Bull shark is the one that has reported more attacks to people, due to the fact

Feeding: it will eat almost anything it can capture, including other sharks, rays, fishes, turtles, birds, dolphins, mollusks, crustaceans, and things that fall overboard, such as cattle, dogs and rats.

Reproduction: it is viviparous, and prefer estuaries as pupping grounds for litters of 1 to 13 pups, which are born after a year gestation period.

Particularities: the bull shark has a unique appearance. It has a very blunt, rounded snout, is one of the most blunted sharks, making easy its recognition. Besides, it eyes are small, its dorsal fin is very pointed and the tips of its fins are dusky.
